Heritage began in the heart of one of our founders, Sandra George, who has served in the Ruston community for two decades at Calvary Baptist Church as a Minister to Children and their Families. Believing that parents and the church have a unique calling to shape the hearts and minds of our children, she began to see the need to form a school in our community that would be marked by academic excellence and an uncompromising commitment to a Christ-centered worldview.
As she began to share this vision with the Calvary staff and church members, the decision was made to start a school by seeking out like-minded believers in our community. A team of seven other believers from four of our local churches began the prayerful work toward the opening of Heritage Classical Academy in August 2025.
These founding Heritage members, along with Calvary Baptist Church and others in our community, have come together to offer the Ruston community a unique educational option for families. Heritage Classical Academy will partner with Christian parents and our churches to shape our children to discern and reflect all that is good, true, and beautiful as image-bearers of their Creator.
